YOUTH ENRICHMENT - A Special Program Just for Teens
BEGINNING IN JULY 2012, Turning the TIDE - in partnership with Family Planning Council - began facilitating and hosting small discussion groups for middle-school teens, ages 11 to 14 years. Designed as part of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative of West and Southwest Philadelphia, this FREE special youth enrichment program is based on an evidenced based curriculum recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The discussion groups are designed to equip adolescents with the knowledge, motivation and skills necessary to act safely and make responsible choices. To date, Turning the TIDE has successfully ushered over 30 teens (boys and girls) through the program. Enrollment for the 2012-2013 groups will be based on first-come, first-enrolled registration. Registration for this new program can be completed in person (at our office) or online through our
